Consultation for Building Labyrinths:

Temporary and Permanent

Sandra Wasko-Flood is available for consulting related to painting and building temporary or permanent indoor and outdoor labyrinths. The Labyrinths can be painted on cement or blacktop or constructed with stones and other natural materials in a garden like setting.


The first hour Consultation is free. 

After that the fee is $50 per hour plus cost of supplies.


Temporary Labyrinths

 can be made out of surveyor flags and/or traffic marker spray paint on grass. Any of the labyrinths shown can be created. At least 3-4 volunteers will be needed. Approximate Costs depend on size and location of labyrinth. 

Costs include: 

  1. Materials:  surveyor flags ($100) spray paint (2 cans: $10) 
  2. Consultation/labor fee: $50-hour 
  3. Travel fee: Car: 50 cents per mile, Amtrak or Plane (depends on location).   


Permanent Labyrinths on Grass or Earth (Garden): 

Stones or bricks, which often can be donated or bought. Costs include 

  1. Materials: 100 Bricks: $85, or Stones: to build labyrinth design line. Pebbles for Path: Three 50 pound bags: $18. Spray paint: 3 cans: $15. 
  2. Consultation/labor fee to dig and clear walking path, to recess bricks or stones for outline: $50-hour. 
  3. T ravel fee: Car: 50 cents per mile, Amtrak or Plane (depends on location).


Permanent Labyrinths Painted on Blacktop or Concrete: 

  1. Materials: Traffic Marker Paint: 6 gallons for colors: White, Black, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green: ($30 per gallon: $180), Spray Paint: 2 cans ($10). 
  2. Consultation/labor fee: $50-hour 
  3. Travel fee: Car: 50 cents per mile, Amtrak or Plane (depends on location).   


  Consultation for Building Canvas Labyrinths to be used indoors or outdoors

  1. All canvas labyrinth designs shown can be created at same cost. 
  2. Materials: Drop Cloth ($16), Paint for 6 colors, half gallon each color ($90); Plastic cloth to transfer design ($8) 
  3. Shipping fee: Fed Ex from Taos to Seattle for 10 lbs. ($145) 
  4. Labor Costs: $50/hour for five hours ($250).
